Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project Update
Speaker: Jason Wise, Design-Build Project Manager, Jacobs
Program: The Progressive Design Build Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project will transform six miles of Interstate I-75/71 and deliver 65 new bridges through Cincinnati, OH and Covington, KY, reducing congestion, improving traffic flow and safety, and preserving connections to key regional and national transportation corridors.
Beginning in the Fall of 2023, the Walsh Kokosing Joint Venture and its design partners AECOM and Jacobs have developed the corridor’s Base design concepts under the direction of the Bi-State Management team, comprised of representatives of ODOT and KYTC, along with FHWA. The project’s innovations, process, and design progress will be presented, including the preferred alternative for the new Brent Spence Companion Bridge.
In 2025, the project continued advancing the innovation concepts, developing Early Work Packages, and finalizing estimates and budgets for the construction phase.
Jason Wise will update the meeting attendees about this generational Progressive Design Build undertaking.
